During a merger or acquisition, HR is frequently left out of the strategic conversation. And yet, most M&A deals fall short of delivering expected returns, and the top reason isn't financial. It's people.
How can HR bring leadership and expertise to the M&A process?
This session will help you prepare for that role. We’ll start by covering key M&A terms and concepts so you can engage confidently in deal discussions. You’ll learn from real-world M&A failures and the people-related issues that contributed to them.
We’ll explore what HR should look for in a data room and why HR data is a critical part of due diligence. You’ll also get an overview of the ideal HR timeline for preparing for an acquisition while acknowledging that real-world timing rarely goes according to plan.
Finally, we’ll focus on how HR can help ensure a successful deal by supporting workforce planning, retaining top talent, identifying post-deal efficiencies, and guiding the tough decisions required to integrate teams and build a unified organization.
There will be time for discussion and questions before the workshop concludes.
