Retirement is a significant transition for both employees and employers. This conversation will explore how organizations can thoughtfully approach retirement planning in ways that honor long-serving employees while protecting business continuity.
Points for discussion include:
Manager Education: How do we equip managers to have sensitive, respectful conversations with employees about retirement timing, planning, and transition?
Knowledge Transfer & Succession: What strategies are effective for capturing institutional knowledge and preparing successors before key employees retire?
Benefits & Flexibility: How are organizations structuring retirement benefits, phased retirement programs, or part-time/consulting options to give employees more choice in how they exit the workforce?
Culture & Inclusion: How can companies build a culture that respects and celebrates retiring employees while also encouraging younger talent to step into new opportunities?
Employee Experience: What practices help employees feel valued during this transition (recognition, communication, alumni programs, etc.)?
This discussion is designed to share challenges, best practices, and creative approaches to retirement planning that support both the workforce and the organization.
