Proper planning and training can make all the difference in a life and death situation in the workplace. This may be a natural disaster, fire, etc. MIOSHA requires workplaces to identify hazards, provide basic first aid until help arrives, communicate effectively, and keep accurate records. This program will help you meet those requirements and build an effective team to handle incidents in the workplace.

Participants should have First Aid & CPR certification. This course is ideal for EHS professionals, safety team members, emergency response team members, and facility leaders.

Topics covered:
Defining a Site Emergency Plan (SEP) including identifying emergency escape routes, meeting locations, accounting for employees, and communication.
Training methods to communicate SEP including instructions, handouts, drills, etc.
Tailoring the training to workplace specifics such as facility layout, number of employees, shifts and culture.
Monitoring and maintaining a plan so it is effectively utilized.
Discussion types of emergencies to consider such as fire, accident, spill, medical, active shooter, etc.
Fees: $179 members; $236.50 nonmembers
