Objectives:
Participants will learn about the most common options in U.S. immigration law to sponsor and employ temporary foreign workers, how to then support their long-term Lawful Permanent Residence in the U.S., as well as how to ensure strict compliance throughout the U.S. immigration sponsorship lifecycle.

Who should attend:
This course is designed to benefit human resource and global mobility professionals in companies of all sizes, supporting one or many foreign workers in the U.S.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
Understand and interpret critical U.S. immigration law terminology and core concepts.
Distinguish between the most common types of temporary foreign worker sponsorships available in the law.
Evaluate options for long-term, Permanent Residence sponsorship.
Support the smooth and timely sponsorship of both temporary and permanent foreign workers.
Coordinate efficiently and effectively with outside immigration law counsel and other vendors.
Ensure appropriate foreign worker communication throughout the sponsorship processes.
Maintain strict U.S. immigration law compliance records and be fully prepared in the event of an audit.


This program has been submitted for 3 general credits hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) as well as 3 recertification credit hours (PDC) toward SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP through the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). The use of these seals is not an endorsement by HRCI or SHRM for the quality of the program. It means that this program has met the HRCI's and SHRM's criteria to be pre-approved for recertification credit.
