Virtual: Microsoft Excel Simplified

Purpose: The purpose of this training is to provide participants with the ability to create Microsoft Excel worksheets that include text, formulas, and functions. Students will be able to apply formatting techniques to improve the appearance of a worksheet.
Objectives: Participants will learn how to setup an Excel worksheet, create formulas to perform calculations, and enhance the appearance of the worksheet using various formatting techniques. Students will also learn how to use some of Excel’s most common functions such as Average, Count, Counta, Max and Min, and Sum.
Who should attend: Anyone new to Excel or is looking to improve how they use Microsoft Excel. Instructor will be using Excel 2016. Content for this course is compatible with the following versions: 2010, 2016, 2021 and Office 365.
Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
Create a worksheet
Use the Series feature to fill in dates
Create basic formulas using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Use the Autosum function to quickly total a range of numbers
Use statistical functions like Average, Count, Max, and Min to determine things like your average, largest, or smallest value in a range
Create range names to improve efficiency when using formulas
Use Help or the Tell Me feature to learn how to do various tasks in Excel
Use formatting techniques to improve the appearance of text, numbers, and dates
Change row height and column width to improve readability
Use Themes and Table Designs to create visual appeal
Add headers and footers to create a recurring worksheet title and insert page numbers
Sort columns of data
Use Page Layout options to scale your worksheet, repeat column headings over multiple pages, and change margins and orientation
Add borders and fill color to highlight areas of your worksheet
Add logos or images for branding

Fees: $299 ASE members; $395.50 nonmembers
This program has been submitted for 5 general credits hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) as well as 5 recertification credit hours (PDC) toward SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP through the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). The use of these seals is not an endorsement by HRCI or SHRM for the quality of the program. It means that this program has met the HRCI's and SHRM's criteria to be pre-approved for recertification credit.
