Virtual: Microsoft Excel Pivot Tables

Objectives: Participants will learn how to create Pivot Tables using a large data set, apply filters in a Pivot Table, use field and report filters on a Pivot Table, create calculated fields in a Pivot Table, create logical tests using basic IF functions, evaluate when to use the AND & OR functions with IF functions, and create nested IF statements.

Have you ever been asked to sift through a large amount of data looking for trend and patterns? Maybe you were just looking for an easy way to summarize the data? Then this class is for you.

Pivot Tables allow you to present your data in a professional and organized manner. You can also create Pivot Charts to add visual appeal to your summary data. Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts are a quick and easy way to see comparisons, patterns, and trends. Both Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts enable you to make informed decisions about your data. Content for this course is compatible with the following Excel versions: 2016, 2021 and Office 365.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
Create, organize, and format a pivot table
Change how values in your pivot table are displayed
Filter, Slice, and Group the Pivot Table data
Create calculations in your Pivot table
Create different types of Pivot Charts to visually represent the data
Use the VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP to look up values arranged in a vertical or horizontal layout
Review and use the IF function to evaluate a scenario
Learn how to create nested IFs
Review the setup and use of the AND function in combination with the IF function
Review the setup and use of the OR function in combination with the IF function
Review the setup and use of the INDEX and MATCH lookup functions

Fees: $299 ASE members; $395.50 nonmembers
This program has been submitted for 5 general credits hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) as well as 5 recertification credit hours (PDC) toward SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP through the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). The use of these seals is not an endorsement by HRCI or SHRM for the quality of the program. It means that this program has met the HRCI's and SHRM's criteria to be pre-approved for recertification credit.
